Through studying the scriptures I have learned to give thanks in all things. God, Jesus, family, Sickness, health, the gospel, prophets, food, shelter, love, work, happiness, sorrow, the coat on my back, transportation, charity, service, neighbors, friends, entertainment, hugs, kisses, compassion, repentance, freedom, laws, books, inventions, education, knowledge, wisdom, ect........
I was asked to write a list of 100 things that I am thankful for. At first it seemed difficult, but then I realized that my list had turned into 200+. We have so much to be grateful for and yet everyday we take for granite the things we already have.
When you are feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders, pray and give thanks for the blessings in your life that you have. Just remember it could be worse.
While studying my scriptures I found some interesting verses that reminded me to give thanks always. Here are a few that touched my heart.
Ephesians 5: 20
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Psalms 100: 4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Philippians 4: 6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
2 Corinthians 9: 12
For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgiving to God
Colossians 2: 6-7
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him
Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
